Head into the desert by 4x4 Jeep and discover the Canyons & Oasis of the desert interior vising Bedouin families to catch an insight to their simplistic way of life. Take a trip to Mt Sinai and witness the spectacular sunrise or sunset and descend to visit St Catherine's Monastery. With all these Adventures we still have time to explore Sharm el Sheikh town, the old market, water parks and local beaches.
Coastal Camp | Our coastal camp is usually set up within one of Egypt's National Parks which offer designated areas for camping, which can be out in the open air or within palmed beach huts, perfect for shelter in windy days and shade in the hotter months. We carry with us equipment for sleeping & food supplies as some location offer basic kitchen facilities where the locals help in preparing meals. Some locations also offer toilet facilities, alternatively we set up a makeshift toilet area not far from camp.
Comfort Hotel | Our recommend choice of accommodation is the Comfort Style, which is generally in a 3* star category. This style choice means we stay in comfortable Hotels with good service and facilities, while still have the local appeal.
· Clean Up Dives & Beach Clean Up's | All major dive resorts along Egypt's coastline arrange beach clean up's and underwater dive clean up's, in order to remove any damaging waste that could harm the fragile marine life. Beach Clean up's can be done anywhere at any time and at Embah we carry bin bags and gloves to collect any waste we find along route, and encourage guests to join in.
EMBAH is committed to the elements of responsible & sustainable tourism, and this tour boasts multiple benefits to the local community. While travelling in the Desert & Mountainous regions of Sinai, work opportunities and therefore income is distributed between multiple desert dwelling families. Wherever possible we purchase local produce, encourage souvenir purchase from the Bedouin women and use local homes for meals. The projects we support in this region are:
Nawamis Desert School | An initiative developed by a UK charity that was brought about to enable the Bedouin villagers to remain in their desert homes and maintain their traditional way of life and still have their children educated. It also provides a special meeting place where Bedouin tribes can gather and celebrate.
Medicinal and Aromatic Plant Gardens | a local initiative to preserve Rare medicinal plants unique to the region. Herbs gardens have been created on various plots in land throughout St Catherine’s and are also cultivated in greenhouses for preserving biodiversity, research and for sale.
